Holistic Ireland is operated by Laura Ni Mhairtin, trading as Loinnir Holistic. Laura Ni Mhairtin is the data controller for personal information processed to run this website and directory. When you apply, we collect your name, application email, practice name, county, therapies and bio, plus any phone number, town, website, social link or photo you choose to provide. We also keep application dates, consent choices and correspondence. Required fields are needed to assess your application; optional fields are your choice.
After approval, the practitioner and practice name, location, services, bio, photo and website/social links you authorise may appear publicly and in search engines. Your application email and phone are for administration and are not published unless you separately authorise public use. Do not include client details, medical histories or other sensitive information in your application.
Newsletter sign-ups provide an email address and consent choice. Wix also processes technical information, such as IP address, browser/device details and website activity, to operate and protect the site.
If you purchase a paid membership, we also process the purchase, payment status, transaction references and information you provide at checkout. Wix and the payment provider handle payment processing. Please never email us full card details.
How and why we use information
We use application and contact details to review your request, provide and maintain a listing, and answer questions. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a listing agreement and performing that agreement. Paid membership administration also relies on performing the membership agreement; required accounting records rely on legal obligations. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable directory, preventing misuse and resolving enquiries where those interests do not override your rights.
Publication of your profile and newsletter marketing rely on your consent. Newsletter consent is optional and separate from applying. You can unsubscribe using the link in our emails or contact us. You can also withdraw publication consent and request removal of your listing. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Applications are reviewed by a person; submission does not automatically publish a listing.
Wix provides website hosting, forms, contact management and related services. Authorised people who administer Holistic Ireland can access applications. Wix and its service providers may process data outside the EEA; Wix describes safeguards including adequacy decisions and EU Standard Contractual Clauses at support.wix.com/en/article/preparing-your-wix-site-for-the-gdpr. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to handle a legal claim. Practitioners, sponsors and external websites have their own privacy practices when you contact or visit them. Applying does not subscribe you to a sponsor's marketing.
Retention, your rights and cookies
Applications are kept while being reviewed and while follow-up or a dispute remains open. Approved profile information is kept while the listing is active. After removal or rejection, information should only be retained where needed to record consent, resolve a complaint or meet a legal obligation; it is then deleted or anonymised. Retention depends on the purpose, the status of the application or listing, and any applicable legal record-keeping period. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe; a limited suppression record may be retained to respect that choice.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are subject to the conditions in data protection law. Email info@holisticireland.com; we may need to verify your identity. You may complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie, or your local supervisory authority.
